About Howden

Howden is a global insurance intermediary group headquartered in London, offering brokerage, reinsurance, and employee benefits solutions to clients ranging from multinational corporates to SMEs and individuals. Founded in 1994, the firm has grown rapidly through a combination of organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, becoming one of the largest independent insurance brokers outside the US. Howden operates across more than 45 countries and is structured to offer client-focused, specialist advice through its decentralised, partner-led model. The firm is particularly active in sectors such as financial services, construction, aviation, and energy, and also has a strong reinsurance business through Howden Tiger. Known for its entrepreneurial culture and alternative to larger, publicly listed brokers, Howden places emphasis on long-term partnerships, employee ownership, and supporting underserved markets with tailored insurance solutions.
