Who we are

Gradbeam (“we”, “us”) operates gradbeam.co.uk, a UK graduate jobs tracker. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us any time through our contact page.

What we collect

  • Account data: email address, name (optional), and sign-in identifiers.
  • Profile data you choose to add: university, degree subject, graduation year, preferred categories, locations and visa sponsorship needs.
  • Activity data: programmes you save, watch or track, and your application statuses.
  • Notification data: email preference, push subscription tokens, and (if you opt in) your WhatsApp number.
  • Payment data: season pass purchases. Card details are handled by Stripe — we never see or store them.
  • Technical data: aggregate page-view counts and error logs. Optional analytics and conversion tools (PostHog, Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics, LinkedIn Insight Tag and Trybe) only run if you consent in the cookie banner.

Why we use it (lawful bases)

  • Contract: running your account, tracking applications, delivering season pass alerts.
  • Consent: marketing-style emails, push notifications and WhatsApp messages, which you can switch off at any time.
  • Legitimate interests: keeping the service secure, fixing faults and understanding aggregate usage.
  • Legal obligation: retaining payment and tax records.

Who we share it with

Only processors that run the service: our hosting and database provider, Stripe (payments), our email delivery provider, Meta (only if you opt in to WhatsApp alerts), and analytics/conversion processors (PostHog, Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics, LinkedIn and Trybe) only when you consent. We do not sell your data or share it with employers.

How long we keep it

  • Account and profile data: while your account is open.
  • After you close your account: your profile is archived and anonymised immediately — name, email, university, degree and phone number are erased, alerts and devices are deleted, and your login is removed.
  • Anonymised activity records (which programmes were tracked, with no identifying details) are kept for statistics. They can no longer be linked back to you.
  • Payment records: kept for 6 years as UK tax law requires.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our use of your data, and request a portable copy. From your profile page you can download everything we hold about you as a JSON file and delete your account in one click. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary — keeping you signed in and remembering your list preferences. Optional product analytics and conversion tracking (PostHog, Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics, LinkedIn Insight Tag and Trybe) only load if you choose “Accept analytics” in our cookie banner, and help us understand which pages and features are used. PostHog may also record sessions (mouse movement and page views, with text you type masked) so we can find and fix problems. You can change your choice any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. See our cookie policy.

Children

Gradbeam is intended for users aged 16 and over.
